I like this idiom, all roads lead to Rome. This idiom mean you have different ways of doing something but achieving same goal. This idiom imply in our life but not many are aware of it.
We all have one goal in life, financial freedom. No one likes to work. No one likes to be in stress. No one likes to take order from superior. Everyone hopes that the y can enjoy without working. So why we work? We work to earn money for survive. We are walking on our chosen pathway to achieve financial freedom.
Are you spending whole afternoon sitting in front of laptop and your eyeball are not moving but just blinking to comfort and rest my eyes for a split of seconds? You seems like busy doing something important because you are concentrate? In fact, you are surfing internet without much motive behind.
Almost all financial expert give advise of to live below your means. In other words, spend less than your earn. If your monthly income is RM2000, you spend less than that amount each month. You don’t buy a 42” LCD TV which might cause around RM5000 or more by installment. This figure have exceed your income limit. A normal flat screen TV will be sufficient for watching. The stuff appear on the screen is exactly the same!
Live below your means definitely is a workable way to achieve financial freedom. You have extra money for saving and for investing in variety of investment. However, live below your means is a get-rich-slowly scheme. You build up your net worth cent by cent.
For me, delay gratification is an interesting phrase in financial world. Before I talk more on it, let us understand the meaning of delay gratification first. Gratification means self satisfaction. You might want to buy yourself a branded watch after you have receive monthly pay-check. You feel happy and satisfy after wearing it. It happens to all people.
I think you can guess the meaning of delay gratification by now. You delay the gratification desire and save the money for more important purposes. You can save your money for investment which generate passive income instead of buying fashion clothes or branded watch which do not add value to your portfolio.
Getting financial freedom is a long process. It might need 10 years, 20 years or even more. You might get rich overnight but you can’t get financial freedom overnight. Financial freedom is not a overnight thing. It need passion and commitment. In order to keep my passion for achieving financial freedom and get rich, I keep on reminding my goals and trigger to take actions.
