Achieving financial freedom is always my dream from the first day I get to know its meaning. Achieving is never an easy task but also it is not unachievable. All it need is determination. I use this blog to keep track my pathway to financial freedom and to share what I had learn during this journey. I think it will be helpful for younger to learn from my mistake.
#1 Financial Freedom Through Reading
By reading, we gain a lot of knowledge and wisdoms. Most of the people after leaving the secondary school, they stop reading. They stop learning new things or slow down their speed of leaning new things. Their learning process are limited to their daily works. That is the biggest corner stone for one to improve themselves and become successful.
If you ever heard of David Bach, author of Automatic Millionaire, you should also heard of Latte Factor. It is his personal finance advise trademark which can lead you to become a millionaire automatically one day.
In the last post, I wrote about the rat race. So, what kind of life does person in rat race have? Well, most probably they everyday doing the same things, working from 8 to 5. Everyday is hoping it is the end of the month because it is salary day. After receiving the salary, we got to pay different types of bills, insurances and loans. The leftover is used for entertainment purpose. Or some better financial knowledge people will save 5-10 percent for future. When do you think you can achieve financial freedom with just 10 percent savings? I guess the answer will be infinity or too long to be counted.
Imagine that you put a rat on a track. The first thing that the rat do is try to balancing itself by moving forward. In the beginning, it run slowly, then it fasten its steps and then finally, the rat running endlessly to balance itself. The process continue until it is out of energy. The rat actually is running at the same point without any forward and backward although it had used up most of its energy.
“ Adam was very happy that he manage to secure the temporary teacher job for this new year. He has being informed on 31 of December. It make the happiest news before the end of 2009 and starting good year on 2010. Adam start working as teacher on 4th of January. All the things is on his side until yesterday. He had being informed that he had been dismiss from the school because of excess teacher in the school. Or maybe he will transfer to other school.”
I started my investment journey at the end of 2007 in ASNB. I know nothing about investment that time. What I know is the dividend rate of ASNB is higher than fixed deposits rate in bank. That’s all. Since I have extra money not in use, so I get my all extra into the ASNB. All these year ASNB gave me 6-7 percent dividend.
